Much of our focus will be on how to build visibility for your school’s site utilizing Web 2.0 media (e.g., social bookmarking sites, weblogs, wikis, podcasts, RSS feeds, etc.).

We will also focus on the WordPress publishing platform for blog add-ons to existing sites or as stand-alone sites themselves. Even though WordPress started out as blogging software initially, it has developed into a full-fledged Content Management Software (CMS) solution with multi-functional capabilities. What’s more, it has hundreds of plugins designed to enrich users’ experiences, and if that wasn’t enough, it’s FREE.

SchoolSyte is about offering educators real-life examples that can be used in their classrooms. We search the web looking for successful uses of web-related technology used in today’s schools and broadcast it to others interested in incorporating the latest into their curriculum. SchoolSyte is not about high level discussions surrounding education in today’s world. There are many great websites that do that. Instead, we’re focused on providing educators with the latest web-related tools that they can use now in their classrooms.
